Choose a seat at a four-player table and review the rules and scoring options before you start. Bid the number of tricks you expect to win based on your hand strength, including optional Nil if you aim to take none. Follow suit when possible; play a spade only after spades have been broken by someone trumping a trick. Win tricks with high cards or trump with spades to capture key rounds and protect your partner’s bids. Coordinate with your partner to make your combined bid and try to set your opponents by holding them under theirs. Manage risk by avoiding extra bags, timing your spade breaks, and closing the match by reaching the target score first.
